Dr. Janet McKenzie is Chief Education Officer and Senior Facilitator for Kings Point Enterprises, a human resource development consulting firm. Specializing in “creating pathways to excellence” for more than 25 years, Kings Point’s mission is to empower organizations to draw upon the collective strengths of individuals and teams as they pursue their mission.
She is retired from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration after having served her country for more than 33 years. She is formerly the Creativity and Innovation Coordinator and Senior Assistant to the Chief Scientist at the NASA-Langley Research Center. In this capacity, she worked with a team of senior researchers seeking to create a culture and sustain an environment that matures breakthrough ideas and concepts making Langley the key national resource for the future of aerospace in the United States.
Previously, she was Chief of the Employee Development Branch (Training). In that capacity, she led a staff of professionals with functional responsibility for strategic planning and implementation, core competency development, executive development, curricula design and individual skills assessment. She was also head of the Employee Relations Section and held positions in staffing, classification, equal opportunity (including Deputy EEO Officer) and acquisition. Her contributions for 33 years, 3 months, and 3 days of sustained excellence were recognized in the form of numerous awards.
Educational achievements include graduation from various government management development programs and earning a Doctorate of Philosophy with a concentration in education and a cognate in human resource development.
